Which tampons are better?

I'm trying to decide between Tampax Pearls, Playtex Sports, or Playtex Gentle Glides. I need something for Lights and maybe I'd get one box or Regular in case my flow is heavier but usually it isn't too heavy at all and I just started my period four months ago. I don't want cardboard applicator--plastic only please!! The main thing that's holding me up right now is the way they open. The Playtex open like a flower which would absorb more (wouldn't it?) and the Tampax just open up kind of like a book which I think would allow more leaks. My mom used Tampax but I'm unsure... I really don't want a leaky tampon--who does? Please help me decide and give me your input. Thanks!!!
