Is feet fungus contagious?

My siste loves swimming and she never wears shoes! I keep telling her to wear sandals cus she's gonna get something nasty. She already has athletes foot? But she got a cream now that shes cured does she have to throw away her socks and shoes and bed sheets and towels? Is it that contagious? Im scare to get near her lol help?
