Find information on japanese china?

My grandmother gave me a set of egg shell china and beautiful pheonix china. I want to find a way to get more information on both. the pheonix has a white background a pheonix bird with a long red tail is flying towards a tree/flowers. the mark on the back is red with two characters. my grandmother was born in japan about 108 years ago, her husband was in the state department and this was a gift from the emperor at the time. thanks
