White spots from tanning? Please answer?

Well Ive had these white spots on my legs for probably over a year now. And i never really noticed them until a few months ago. I heard it could be tinea versicolor which is a skin fungus. I use to tan but i quit due to the fact of the little white spots. I heard Selsun Blue worked for some people so i used it! But they havent went away! I've also used athletes foot cream. Those were some medicines people told me to use. What should I do?! I want these spots gone? Anybody know any other lotions I could use? Can regular doctors treat you with this? The only dermatologist we have around here is like 2 hours away so I dont have no way to go see one.
