Where does it show what gear I am in when driving a 2009 subaru 2.5L impreza (not wrx)?

It's an automatic, therefore it WON'T show you anything other than what main gear you're currently in: 1st, 2nd, Drive and so on. This is why I tell all my friends and family that no matter WHAT kind of car they get, get the manual tranny always!
