Whats a good AWD off-road car?

Im a rural carrier *** for USPS and i was goign to get an AWD or 4WD Suv but i figured gas is probally better if i get like a rally car or something, i cant seem to find any WRX's around here for cheap but i was wondering what are so other good AWD offroad rally car makes and models? im looking to spend like 3-8k on a used.
