What should be my first car?

I am getting my first car relatively soon. I know that i should take safety, and reliability on my first choice but i've always wanted a Mitsubishi Evo X or the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX. Now i know that you should not buy a car that you can't afford the insurance on so i was wondering how much it would cost to insure. Plus i think the car is too powerful for a first timer, so any suggestions? Specific detail is greatly appreciated.
