Does a fungus get accustomed if you use too much antifungal cream?

well I've been using candid b on a a small skin fungus spot on my neck, the spot seems to be wearing away. i use it twice a day in the mourning and night, but my mom said if i keep on using so much at a time the fungus will get accustomed to it and it'll stop working, is this true?
